The Viaducts are fitted with a series of light, sculptural roofs, creating more usable public space. Carrall Street is a greenway, closed to vehicles. Public art, Chinese traditional garden, skate/bmx/mountain bike park, community garden and playground inhabit the space The current skatepark expands to include a skate able sculpture garden. Two mixed-use towers serve visitors and residents alike. Creative use of public space and north-south greenways are emphasized.
The Viaducts remain intact with additional public space created by a series of light, sculptural roofs. Carrall Street becomes a main pedestrian/pedal-friendly greenway, closed to vehicle traffic. Public art, sculpture garden, Chinese traditional garden, skate park, bmx/mountain bike park, community garden and children's play area inhabit the space between viaducts from Carrall to Quebec. Andy Livingstone Park is joined the seawall bike path by a pedestrian bridge/viewing area under the viaduct roofs. Stairs cascade from the roofed tennis area and serve as seating for soccer matches. The current skateboard plaza expands to include a skate able sculpture garden in the lot to the east.
A Green Information Centre sits between the Viaducts at Carrall, across from two mixed use towers, with parking below, to serve visitors and residents alike. New north-south pedestrian/thoroughfares are emphasized white still keeping main traffic corridors to service the area. Creative use of public space and re-greening has been emphasized throughout the plan.
North-south greenway connectors join False Creek to the Harbour at Gastown with the Carrall Greenway, and the divided bike lane along Quebec. The pedestrian bridge/overpass provides a view of the water, the soccer fields and the activities in the public space below. A diagonal bike path/walkway allows passage through the gardens and activity zones within the viaduct parkway. An enriched public and green experience is emphasized white keeping the important traffic corridors available. An outdoor stage juts out at False Creek and acts as the entrance to the Carrall Street Greenway.
