Paradise Lost, Paradise Found
Our proposed garden is representative of the continual life cycle, the process of the journey through life and the wisdom attained as we walk down the path of life. This internal process is reflected by providing varying paths for visitor, carved out of the bamboo, recognizing that we are ail on our own distinct path in life. Paradise is represented as a continuous search within the garden, a search for something higher than oneself, something more profound or sublime. Glimpses of paradise represented by live bamboo move the visitor onward. A simple pool, marking the end the passage, reflects the image of the visitor, the garden, other visitors and the larger context. By gaining personal knowledge, wisdom and experience the visitor has completed his journey and can explore the larger human consciousness and connection. The visitor recognizes it is not just his own understanding, but also his connection to humanity that allows his experience of paradise.
