Speaking Lawn
"Speaking Lawn" allow us to explore the notion of "Paradise" through the relationship between human and nature. In a society where lawn is omnipresent, the never ending debate of carbon emission, and global warming are the hottest current issues our Speaking Lawn starts to converse these in a new perspective. We challenge the notion of lawn on the horizontal surface always embedded into the land, we rotated it vertically and displayed to represent the amount of oxygen produced by plants and quantify and equate our everyday human activities, such as running person, walking person, resting person, pet and running car. In addition to this, speakers within the vertical lawn reinforces these ideas by playing abstract sounds of lawn exhaling oxygen in five different frequencies to represent the five different activities, Multiple layers of senses: seeing, touching, and hearing will facilitate visitors to experience the art of information and sound. Interactions with the Speaking Lawn will not only enable the visitors' interaction, but disseminate the information to allow the lost conversation between human and nature to start debating the notion of the paradise.
