A world on the inside
Paradise is a garden,
A secluded garden. The outside is tempting, with walls that lures you to enter. At the same time, the walls keep the inside hidden. The border between inside and outside is sharp. You have to enter the garden in order to discover it in full. When you do so, the outside world disappears.
Our garden is a mix of different archetypical gardens, layered, and pasted together. They are distorted to create a wonderland where perspective and scale confuses the visitor. The garden consists of a sequence of rooms. The rooms have various sizes, and the walls have various height. The walls are elevated from the plan of the garden, and their silhouettes create hedges, bosques, parterres.
The aim of the design is to create a garden that triggers emotions of surprise and delight.
In doing so, the garden offers our view of paradise: a sensous world.
