Paradisiacal Notions: a pastoral aesthetic representation of the blending of beliefs and the individual lites path to paradise.
7 birch: Pioneer species symbolizing renewal and purification. Gardeners still use the birch broom to 'purify' their gardens. The number 7 is linked to paradise in Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and other Celtic superstitions.
8 poles of suspension: In Babylonian myth, 8 represents the realm where the gods lived. Muslims believe that there are seven hells but eight paradises and there are 8 petals on the Lotus (important Buddhist symbol).
International 50': the 50 most commonly spoken languages, in black and white, and the word/ character 'paradise' written on each. Each panel is meant to turn with the wind as we are all different yet connected.
`Rock': symbolic in religions, also representing strength and solidarity - that one thing in lite that moves us - our strive for paradise.
