Sealed subcontious: the hortus conclusus
The Garden expresses a conceptual paradise as an archaic space existing before man, a space our memory cannot fully perceive, a forbidden garden we can only imagine.
The visitor will first walk through a dry and alienating landscape, a floor covered with granulated slag, then he will be confronted with a big black prism 6x6x3m rendering an uncanny post human perfection. The walls of this structure are made of horizontal fines of gaffer-tape, through which, the visitor have visual access to the garden hidden inside the cube. The garden consists of exotic plants, that are unusual in this area, emphasizing the unattainability. In the middle of this garden, will be placed an aquarium containing jellyfish, some of the oldest multicellular animals to appear on this planet. Jellyfish contain, within their simple structure, the genetic information common among ail living beings and within this biological memory is hidden that fantastic time.
