White rabbit : a journey into a dream
Paradise can mean many things to people depending on their cul¬ture, religious views, and ideals. However, they all have one thing in common: it is a dream of some¬thing wonderful. White Rabbit is a garden that everyone can relate to, and find their personal idea of paradise. The visitor is free to interpret it as they wish, finding in it anything from Dante's paradise, to an endless bounty, or a stairway to heaven.
White Rabbit ''explodes'' the ideal garden into nine levels, each containing one element. The lev¬els are stacked vertically and ar¬ranged on a 3 x 3 grid to create a spiral ascent. The structure can be quickly set up using the Layher® scaffolding system and then placing planters on the platforms. The surrounding area on the lot (one of the spaces on the Grid) will be planted with seeds and allowed to grow naturally throughout the course of two years.
