An Inclusive Forecourt
Deartificialize the ground
This project proposes the installation of a "distribution tower": a staircase winding around an elevator, both connected to a walkway that serves the various points of the site.
This solution first makes it possible to minimize the footprint of the distribution system, thereby freeing the ground from artificialization -- an increasingly crucial issue in the current climate context. Moreover, this almost ostentatious "distribution tower" fully embraces the necessity of climbing this sloped site. Both able-bodied people and those with disabilities use the same tower to access the different levels, thus eliminating any separation between their routes.
Inclusivity is also expressed through the addition of two ancillary programs: an outdoor workout park, making it possible to access sports facilities without entering the buildings; and an enclosure for a few goats, fostering social ties among neighborhood residents while ensuring ecological lawn maintenance, replacing machines.
Finally, the project seeks to strengthen its connection with the park above by requalifying its entrance.
(From competitor's text)
The proposal includes only one elevator, located far from the building, and the proposed walkways are very long, which limits both the convenience and efficiency of the circulation for all users.
