Montreal's winter is wet and long, accompanied by biting northerly winds, which limits the scope and form of people's outdoor activities.
The 1976 Montreal Olympics was the pride of Montreal and all Canadians, and the dome of the main stadium was a symbol of that major event.
Based on the above considerations, this project basically retains the structural system of the original stadium dome, adds surrounding anchors for structural fixation, and sets up a shield in the north to ensure the suitability of the sports venue most of the time.
More than 80% of the original materials were reused, and their stress state remained basically unchanged.
