The Châteauguay library project as proposed by Nomade architecture invests the site with a controlled assurance. It takes advantage of the green spaces without jeopardising them, notably by the "vegetal breach" in the center of the volume. The interior of the library thus becomes, as the jury mentioned, "a journey through the site". The internal space is thus developed in a logical succession, imposed by the bar form. Vertically, the building is read in layers: the landscape, the collection plateau and the plant cover. The jury appreciated the project's investment in the site while being aware of the obstacles created by the linear approach adopted. The jury also greatly appreciated the landscape aspect of the project and its conceptual strength.

(CRC text 2004)
The idea of the library becoming a journey through the site appealed to the jury. Although this project was by far the one that best invested the site, its linear bias presented obstacles in terms of internal operation with regard to the flexibility of collection rearrangement as well as employee control for all of the buildings."
