Description

This organism evolves with time without anticipating the final result, if there is finality.

The Creative Team
Instead of imposing a final and static project, the creative team establishes the basis for the project to ensue. The team provides the embryo of a project that will evolve with the will of its surrounding's influences, in order to adapt to it perfectly. By predicting the behaviour of the organism to become, the team equips the collective with a matrix capable of growth and of healthy development. This development matrix takes many shapes and thus composes itself of incentives, of possible connections, of physical boundaries, etc. The new position adopted by the creators elicits the redistribution of the decision making system and ultimately allows for the management of ultra-complex projects, since it is an entire community's potential to profit.

The Community
It finds itself enriched of a new autonomy. It directs the construction team that we hope emerges from its ranks, it supervises the sprawl of the primary and secondary networks while each user or group of users is invited to instigate the evolution of their own cells depending on their desires, their needs and their means by the addition, subtraction, or displacement of standardized architectural elements. Every one is assured to find their place. This role is enriching for the user and allows his community to find a gratifying position within their society.

Downtown Montreal
The organism will be capable of adapting itself to the future development of the downtown core, leaving room for new buildings, all the while filling new voids or by reorganizing itself in order to assist a new reality; the project will be capable of serving the site that supports it. The organism has been conceived to lie delicately on the site without major disturbances: the modular cells will be inserted in the absence of major work-sites.

It is a matter of cooperative auto-construction with progressive development.
