Paradise (802.11n Wi-Fi)
Intended to be intentionally jarring, and discontinuous, the untreated boardwalks lead into a patchwork of moss and grasses lying in stries between screening fentes. Evocative of a beach walk, Sand spills over the edges of the boards. Site flow is suggested, but discretionary. Boardwalk spatters into the landscape, offering a non-pushy narrative of benches with individual miniature landscapes. Seats are suggested in curvatures of white. The scale, syncoptic, in-vites exploration. Delicate effervescent green masses slide tiny fingers out in deliberate motions from behind the shade of fence screens and grasses, and the eye slips from bench to ground to the immediate pattern of crisp laser cut words and the flowers of soft lichen on the boards. Plug in here, it suggests. Put your ear to the wood. Why net live outside.
Sanded to smoothness, the sun-warmed untreated wood is pleasant--but so it is expected to be. In a world where walkways lead somewhere, this one has eroded edges. Ifs desperation lies dissipated somewhere under the mass, or around a bench momentarily appropriated by two siblings playing a newly invented game. Suddenly, in the fence, the tiny eye of a webcam appears: press here, it advises.
