The proposed building is divided into 3 parts, from north to south:
1. in the north (in the former choir): the rectory and the fabrique;
2. in the middle (in the former transept): the church, now oriented to the east;
3. in the south (in the former nave and bell tower): a part reserved for a public program to be defined, such as a library or association premises.
The division of the building into 3 distinct parts has the following advantages
- increased security against the risk of fire;
- the possibility of different and simultaneous uses of the building, and therefore easier financing: either an institution buys the southern part of the building (and assumes the reconstruction), or it commits itself to rent it (and thus facilitates the obtaining of credits by the project owner)
- finally, the creation of a new space for the presbytery and the parish church improves the life and identity of the parish while allowing a new source of financing, through the rental or sale of the current presbytery.
The new floors and roof do not rest on the old walls but on a separate, load-bearing and insulating structure. The roof rests on a system of wooden vaults or half-vaults, made of prefabricated caissons, which are at the same time load-bearing, insulating and decorative (pre-finished). These vaults form rigid arches on which the roof rafters rest. This method of construction saves a lot of space (possibility of 4 levels), is economical in materials and uses prefabrication, thus allowing savings in implementation.
