- The anchoring point of the building on the site remains an element that was not understood by the members of the jury. The same is true for the overall layout of the site and the orientation of its nine zones.
- The absence of a link to Lindsay Street is noted with regret.
- The trails developed do not take into account human behaviour. It is anticipated that other pathways will be formed linking points of interest by the shortest route.
- Respect for the urban scale of the area is appreciated.
- The proposed design elicits mixed opinions regarding the presence of a unifying roof over the four modules. On the one hand, the gesture of unifying the different poles is well received. Its presence is spectacular. But, is it at the same time an admission of a lack of unity in this place?
- The points of the unifying veil are qualified as aggressive. But the major constraints that are seen are the very composition of this structure and its maintenance. Strong concerns are expressed about the behavior of snow accumulations in freeze-thaw situations. The answers provided by the finalist on this subject did not convince the members of the jury. This innovative element made of expanded metal does not seem to be adapted to our climate. Would this veil allow walking on it for maintenance, and in what safe conditions?
- The designer offers an entrance and forecourt that is described as "beautiful". In addition, the internal uses that border them are entirely appropriate. The screen-printed concrete of the forecourt is remarkable.
- Access to the parking lot is directly from Rue des Forges, without interference from the bus terminal traffic. This shared parking lot for skaters and library users is well located, but because of its configuration, it can result in long trips to either.
- The service building for the skating rink is missing from the proposal.
- The planning of the building allows for a very good respect of the program in terms of its internal functioning.
- The location of the café near the terminus is an asset.
