AVAILABLE AND FREE

It is an interesting situation. Half is available and half isn't available. One half is built. The other half is free. Starting from this morphology - the available and the free - could this open the idea of imagining two different kind of approaches on the idea of however one PHI-CONTEMPORARY.

The old is what it is and simple stay what it is. What is available is just available and is inspiring enough. A precise restauration and a humble renovation next to some introductions of little shifts or twisted solution makes these spaces available as they are.

The free make possible what it can make possible. A free space by a free span on every other floor. A free floor ceiling that gets higher every other floor. And as much as possible space on each. Maybe more possible then needed. And floor that reach from like two levels below to six levels above. Also here: At first not the program is guiding in the way to develop the PHI-CONTEMORARY but the PHI-C.

Taking in account the morphology of the three houses - spaces of room - we introduce the idea of three spaces - room for spaces -. A constellation of twice three different volumes with each a different character from room to space. An ensemble of 'double triple' volumes, buildings, rooms and spaces.

It is always about capacity of surfaces and spaces, but it becomes by this merely about a capacity of two different types of logics and typologies of spaces to be inspirational then just a quantity search. Of course, the more possible the more inspirational.

Yet in our application we lined out to check-out if more is possible and how that could deliver more space even not programmed or expected. And by that the space could be eventually and possible differently developed or charged taking climate conditions in a different way.

This is our POSITION # 1 today /phase I to read also as CHALLENGE # 1 tomorrow / phase II. Rephrase it as a matter of the FREE SPAN and the AUTHENTIC ROOM
