Nocturnal Mirage
The Gesù's lighting must reveal his richness. Indeed, this venue is multiple: it is a religious monument, creative space and a show space all at once. How to make this richness visible without revealing it?
The Gesù is in the Quartier des Spectacles: the towers protect the entrance like two folding screen. On the top of the stairs, between the doors, the building's main façade sparks gently during an event and shines calmly in the absence of a show. Camaieu from a distance, kaleidoscope from closer, the Gesù's lighting interprets the space's richness and gives it a dynamic translation.
This translation is linked to the pedestrian or spectator path; it declines on all building's facades. At the building's edge, the Quartier des Spectacles lighting plan comes alive. The path drawn by Ruedi Bauer leads to the Gesù's edge.
