It begins with the circle in the square. But the edge is interstitial and defines the first plane of aspiration. Aspire: to reach upward; this single gesture as the wall reaches towards the heavens defines the demarcation of the new entry, thus creating the interactive boundary between interior and exterior but at once between earth and sky. A spire: both delineator of place and form; the bell tower - harkening to the neighbors of old, but signifying a new moment and element reaching forward. This is a place that in differentiating here, now, bridges also past and future.
Stone, walls: all familiar and timeless, comforting and protective. Yet, interwoven with the crystalline faceting of the openings in glass, also introduce a welcoming. An invitation to mingle, in galleries and lounge spanning three stories - so exhibition tells stores not linear but stacked, steeped in the remembrance of achievements gone by and the embodiment of dreams and vision to come.
A gathering place, which leads to a presentation place: auditorium, embraced by all the same thresholds and vessels preceding, yet layered with screening, both protective of and responsive to the light, that precious glow which imbues all spaces.
