Floating Amphitheater
The project of an amphitheater and multi-use space takes shape into a floating box over the existing building, creating a new image for the architecture school. Also this addition makes a new view from the street emphasizing the new main facade and the hierarchy of the school.
Before no sides had more relevance, but with this addition the whole place starts to have meaning The intention is simple and clear, the architecture building will be seen from the distance as a new element in the skyline of Old Town Quebec.
We have thought about something that will have its own meaning with a contemporary design at the same it doesn't fight with the existing buildings as the Notre-dame de Quebec Cathedral or the Archevêque de Quebec.
Bioclimatic pixeled skin design.
Ours is composed of different materials following diverse studies, such aspect as wind, solar radiation or sight from the exterior.
Pixelatted skin.
One of the key elements of our project is to give knowledge to people about art, artists and especially local artist as Jean-Paul Riopelle. [He was born in Quebec province, specifically in Montreal, and his style could be within the abstract expressionism]
Thanks to these several kinds of panels we obtain any composition that we want. So these facades can change over time. Its panels can be used for creating different pictures, just need to change the ipacity of them. This is controlled with informatic devices.
This system gets the small quantity of energy that it needs from the solar panels in the roof.
