The Green Line Ideas Competitions Project combines different concepts that allows to increase the dynamics of the area. The proposal covers many aspects such as connection, sustainability, public space and the contrast of high and low speed mobility. The urban context where the project is placed englobes some issues like pedestrian and cyclist safety, where car-users are prioritized, and the railway underpass is an uninviting structure.
The idea of the proposal design turns the structure functional for pedestrians, establishing a strong connection between both levels, Green Line and the "subway", becomes an inviting structure. Simultaneously, there are considerable aspects that improve the experience of Green Line transitions as acoustic barriers that project the users from train noise and potentiates the public space giving uses like meeting points, hiking and way orientations.
This solution is implementable in the other existence intersections throughout the Green Line. The repetition of the composition reinforces the Green Line itself.
The materials were thought to be functional in different climate conditions. The main structure is a curve laminated wooden beam where the design allows to overcome the distance between the two sides of the street without interfering into the Road.
The Project contemplates an improvement in the physical, visual and psychological in the connection for the Green Line.
