The John Fry Sport Park Pavilion is expressed as a simple rectilinear form that reaches out towards public parking and walkways to the northeast and southwest. The east side, extending out to the north serves the general public and features a large open gathering space, concession, and public washrooms. The west side, extending to the south, contains the change rooms, storage, and mechanical space to serve the sports groups using the park.
Entrances are located at both the north and south of the building, each featuring a protected outdoor space partly covered by soaring overhangs. Two additional entrances to the west, naturally lit with large clerestory windows, directly serve the change rooms and provide easy access to the baseball diamonds outside. Thus, the entrance that each individual uses is a direct function of why that individual is at the park, and in the pavilion, in the first place.
