180° radical master plan
Starting a master plan for sudbury is to make a proposal aimed towards architecture and the future. The objective is satisfying the demand of a city that condenses its resources such as current and long-term heritage. The goal is focused on a rotating proposal. Today, part of the city is delimited by the use of the railroad, acting as a base object that divides a large area. The city is understood in a functional way, but it is not interpreted with an appropriate function. The buildings are distributed without a connection that improves the surface space of the city.
180° is a position that turns the negative of a function into the positive, a result of the urban space of the city. 180° is conceived as an union and detachment space, both qualities are valued because they come off from a duality.
A duality that for this urban project will be at 0° the functional distributions mediator, revitalizes to rotate towards the positive pole. Therefore the proposal makes us realize about turning certain restrictions (-) into opportunities (+)

This space conditions framework will define the project as a whole, where 180° Sudbury will be the strategic point for the development of an integral city.
Each quality will have space conditions, the union will have a geometry that allows to generate group, recreation, and leisure activities. The mediator will have a geometry that allows the generation of nodes and the detachment is produced by isolated and individual activities, these three values revitalize a participatory and complete context, where each one has a justified and important purpose for a free and prosperous people's development.
Geometry, 180° Sudbury, is presented as a territorial whole that through this framework allows to give early solutions to some situations related to the city's organization.
The union will be achieved through a geometry of curves or lines that allows to embrace different acts through a gesture. The mediator will be a node that allows a transitional geometry. And the detachment will be conceived through a geometry of drawing traces.
Three situations will be defined in a base scheme.
Each scheme is oriented towards transversality because the railroads are defined in a vertical sense, this will allow to have a more corresponding connection in reference to the city's organization.
180° | Base, medium and upper
It is proposed to work on 3 levels, it is proposed to articulate using platforms. Base platform, the ground plan will be developed due to it comes from the railroads idea and how these manage to follow the linearity and curvature concepts. The medium platform will be developed as a sustainable node, as a railroad station. The upper platform will be developed as drawing traces, just like the railroads, but as an elevated platform.
180° sudbury green village.
The project composes a system based on the weather, it is possible that by the year 2050, renewable energies will have different systems that will prevail and reinforce an orientation towards the Sun. It is proposed that each building or intervention has a harmony with the project in general or to contain a sustainable use for the resources, in this way the value can be kept.
Certain guidelines are proposed to allow an efficient use through measurement scales in public space.
Base platform, a pedestrian ladder with free access.
Medium platform a ladder of cushioning with free access.
Upper platform, a major scale or a double scale with free access.
180° Sudbury green village, is based as a sustainable project over time where its executions have a green platform in common adjusting to other three articulation platforms, it is articulated based on a scale that allows spaces to be configured.
For this, 3 elements are designated with their materiality.
Base platform, a concrete wall element with a recreational activity program.
Medium platform, building node or green node program.
Upper platform, copper gangway element.
These 3 materialities qualify the project.
Concrete wall with openings or gateways (2m) aimed towards social activity.
Elevated floor with its respective building or integrated trees.
Copper gangways (1.20m) evocating sudbury's present elements.
The project has elements that qualify the space and resemble the first arts of the xx century, but with a modern and contemporary conditioning, revitalizing the public space and giving continuity to an established program.

Ice skating rink
Performance center
Hotel and / or housing building
New library
Art gallery
180° radical
A paradigm change comes to happen when the buildings or space situations are oriented towards the renewable energies, it is foreknow that the 2030 ONU's agenda includes Canada, therefore, Sudbury to be present in the years to come, 17 objectives will intervene the city and Sudbury has the opportunity to achieve them for the benefit of a healthier city, with high standards and an important economy. The paradigm change will be from 2020 until 2030 with sustainable progress and an autonomous technology by 2050. It is proposed that the interventions have some concepts related to the master plan harmonic dimension and the sustainable use of resources. For this a register of the buildings that are made in the master plan is proposed, these must meet the project's minimum standards. Therefore, the library fulfills a fundamental role where the books provide access to the history and the future of the city, located in the central area. In the central area a hotel and / or housing building is left, a place that has a larger space. The other buildings are located in strategic places, the ice skating rink and art gallery, are on each threshold of the master plan.
And the performance center is connected to the ice skating rink, where performance and sports are connected by art. 180° radical is a long-term master plan that will allow a major change in the city and its population, to achieve an integral development.
