Beyond its conceptual character, our approach is pragmatic and rigorous in order to respond to the essence of the projected place, that is to say a place of respite, tranquility, meetings and exchanges that belongs to the citizens. Our effort is to represent the Peter McGill Cultural Centre SANAAQ in a unified, evolving and multisensory vision.
The space is not univocal and different perceptions are possible, which can reveal a complexity, an unexpected richness.
The search for a social relevance supports our approach. Our will to "provoke situations" is based first of all on a programmatic vision: the "community activators". The shaping of these activators presupposes the evolving nature of the needs and desires of the community of users in relation to public institutions.
The principle of MakerSpaces is applied in the design of the project.
It is about highlighting the capacities of architecture, design and signage to evolve in time and in use. Their configuration, both spatial and technological, facilitates transformation and adaptation to different uses, events and programs. The rapid evolution of digital technologies and their interactive potential requires careful design. The implementation of an open infrastructure ensuring the post-accountability of the projected systems and spaces with the latest technological advances allows the Peter-McGill-Sanaaq Cultural Centre to be conceived as a support to continuous experimentation and innovation.
Beyond the competition, we propose a collaborative approach that leaves room for citizen input. The subsequent modulation of the building; will of course be ensured by this flexibility of the infrastructure (mobility of the walls, strategic distribution of services (accessible floors), technological supports, etc.); but above all by the thinking that shapes it.

-The inspiration for the design approach is sustained and consistently realized.
-The project is attractive, easy to approach and appropriate, even familiar.
-The integration of a monumental red walkway brings a distinctive and striking element to the Centre. It animates the space and allows the discovery of the different spaces of the Centre. However, its real use, except for technical hanging, is questionable.
-The musical signature is well assimilated and transposed into the project.
-The use of wood is appreciated. It gives the space a warm atmosphere. Apart from the walkway, which energizes by its color, the materials are of sober and balanced colors.
-On the second floor, the layout of the adjoining rooms responds to the community aspect of the project. The spaces are flexible and adaptable to various uses.
-The strategy of managing the space according to extended and variable schedules unfortunately relies on the deployment of fences to close off areas to ensure this management.
-The planning of the auditorium has significant functional deficiencies.
-The furniture presented, in reference to the root of the word SANAAQ, is modular and playful. However, there is some concern about its maintenance and longevity.
-The proposed structural and electromechanical solutions are adequate.
-The proposal to achieve LEED Gold certification is adequate at this stage.
-The budget feasibility has been satisfactorily demonstrated, following the submission of the requested cost reduction measures.
