The organization of the plan around a large central space open to the entire height of the building, providing an overall view of the library.
The respect of the distribution of the sectors imposed by the program.
The creation of a periodicals sector for children, skilfully linked to the adult sector and facing Saint-Just Street. These sectors are very busy and reveal to passers-by the interior activity of the library. On the opposite side of the building, behind the main staircase, a space of the same size is dedicated to the audiovisual sector and to listening to music, facing an enclosed garden suitable for calm and reflection.
The quality of the light coming from the three skylights in the roof, strategically placed above the work and reading rooms and above the central space.
The position and layout of the main entrance does not make it sufficiently noticeable on the façade.
The use of roughcast as the exterior envelope of the floor, probably chosen to lighten the mass of the building, is not convincing in the context of the neighborhood.
Although it would have been possible to reduce some of the dimensions of the plan, the building proposes a percentage of siting that exceeds that imposed by the zoning regulations.
