In the hundred steeples town, how is it possible for a church to get unmarked?
Although huge, this church lives in the shadow of its own incompletion. Without steeples and confined, this religious venue, has been transformed with time in an important culture, education and creative space in Montreal.
With lights, we have erected virtual steeples, complementing the original imagined erection. Those steeples, reproduced by lights, give to that venue a vertical height, nonexistent until now.
Prolific space, for faith, cult and creation, these different functions have to be expressed. That is why we have treated the façade like a membrane connecting the inside with the outside. Its capacity to express its different personalities offering a recognition of its inside activities and communicate its intensity.
