Daleth is the first letter of the hebrew meaning 'door' and represented with the threshold. This is why it means opening. In the greek alphabet the letter becomes Delta, represented as a triangule. It's abstract meaning is" to give a path". From this, the meaning extends to circulation, flow, rood, path.
We understand university as a path, a transition, a way to achieve a certain objective. An Architecture university is not a site, not an institution. An architecture university is a concealed project where students and academics agree on sharing a mutual goal.
On the basis of the well known structure, this goal is known as a project, an ideal to be achieved but not only an educational ideal. It is an individual idea of becoming. That's how the university turns into a transitional form, a path that takes shape in actu, to be defined in by each individual's in potentia. Now action and transition defines constant movement. The fluid moment of an action in progress.
The Daleth Building represents a continuous path that is interconnected in it's different stages. A path were that who walks trough it is in permanent contact with the working students, professionals and professors; where knowledge is exposed, shared and acquired in both a traditional way and team work thus generating a continuous and fluid pulse.
The multidisciplinary workshops located in the building's external wings flow around the central volume and encircle it by giving exhibition of the action taken place in each space. This path of timeless conception, both inner and outer sight, holds continuity by representation of traditional systems of connection.
