DEMOUNTABLE BOX
DESIGN CONCEPT
I learn public goal and tectonic construction by researching pavilion case studies.From the learning, I think that the solar powered shelter should be designed as"demountable box". This is because, according to the research, we have to consider recyclability and versatility for the future scenario. Even though the structure could be permanent one as the public space intervention, it has to connect with future community and the Sherbrooke street environment as much as possible. However, sense of place is changing according to the needs and time. First of all, I think that the electric charging should be fulfilled as the main purpose of the solar shelter. However, afterward, we need to think more for the unique design. Therefore, I consider that demountable and re-thinking design is very important for the public and the site. By doing so, people would get more interest the climate change issue and sustainable future. Over the limitation of existing bus structure, the new pavilion would help sustatible education. Both structure must be mingled with the community well. Moreover, I figure out aesthetically architectural place by using construction logic and tectonic. To be specific, after the demountable box is delivered on the site, the boxes can be refined. Furthermore, the structure includes education, relaxing and socializing with others. Finally, I select solar fabric and recycled wooden lumber as the main materials. The modular boxes (each module size: 2m x 2m x 2m) are greatly matched on container size for delivery. This is my design and public interest for the solar shelter project. To sum up,I hope the awareness function of climate change should include not only intriguing pop-up character, but also sustainable education.
